A master of both western and Japanese painting traditions, he has created an immense body of work, held over 30 solo exhibitions, published several books and taught thousands of students.
Portraits of Silence explores the painting, inspirations, philosophy and spirit of a man who combines the mystery and discipline of Japan with great warmth and humor.
